Peter Reijn
Peter is the co-owner and head coach at Total Soccer. Peter helped found Total Soccer in 2017 to offer children in the Cayman Islands the opportunity to take part in dynamic, challenging and professional youth development football programs inspired by the Dutch Football Vision. Peter is a former Dutch pro-youth player and semi-pro player. At a young age, he joined the youth academy of the Belgian Premier League club K.A.A. Gent (Belgian champions 2015/2016) where he played until he was 19. He has a Master’s in Psychology, but never stopped being involved with football. Peter is passionate about youth development, where he integrates best practices as the Coerver method, Cruyff vision and social psychology notions to motivate and challenge his players to reach their fullest potential.
Coach Peter’s aim is to help further develop the Cayman Islands youth potential.
Christina Frank
Coach Peter and his team’s professional, yet fun approach, to training not only develops my son’s football skills, but also his sportsmanship and character. They focus on the players growth both on and off the field. We are so grateful to be a part of the Total Soccer family.
James Hagerty
James is in his third year coaching with Total Soccer. He joined Total Soccer after working for Chelsea FC Foundation for more than 13 years. He initially was based at Chelsea FC’s training ground coaching within the boys and girls’ academies and more recently was based in Asia as head of the Chelsea FC’s academies in Seoul, Bangkok and Singapore. James played for local grassroots football teams in the UK, growing up in the suburbs of London.
James holds a UEFA B License and a Bachelor’s Degree in Sports Coaching and Performance from the University of South Wales. James is a passionate coach who tries to give his players the freedom to express themselves and hopes that the players enjoy playing football in this positive environment.
Thomas Botden
Thomas is in his first year coaching with Total Soccer. Thomas comes to Total Soccer after serving mainly as trainer and coach of the U10 and U18 team at NEC Nijmegen, and individual technique coach and movement expert for the U21’s. He also brings a wealth of experience working with children in an academic setting having spent two years as an elementary school physical education teacher in Nijmegen, Netherlands.
Thomas holds a UEFA B License and graduated from HAN University of Applied Sciences in the Netherlands in 2022 with a Bachelor of Education degree.
Shanice Monteith
Shanice is in her fourth year coaching with Total Soccer. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business from the University of West Florida, where she also became an NCAA Division II national champion in 2012 and runners-up in 2013 with the school’s women’s soccer team.
Shanice, who has represented the Cayman Islands internationally as part of the women’s national team, hopes to transfer her passion and knowledge about the game to the next generation of footballers on the island.
Nino Robert
Nino is in his first year coaching with Total Soccer. Originally from the Netherlands, Nino came to the Cayman Islands after three years as a youth coach with SC Heerenveen, where he worked with the club’s U11, U13 and U14 teams. Nino holds his UEFA B/VC3 and UEFA C licenses and earned his CIOSNL sports and exercise training/coach level 4 certification in 2024.
Jonah Ebanks
Jonah is in his second full year coaching with Total Soccer. He has represented Cayman internationally as part of the men’s national team and has experience playing in the Caribbean region as well as at the Academy level in Europe. He was the leading scorer of the Cayman Islands Football Association Premier League for the 2023/2024 season.
Jonah earned his CONCACAF D License and has been involved at the grassroots level for more than five years. His goal is to help the next generation of footballers to enjoy, develop and maximise their opportunities in the sports.
