Total Soccer’s training method focuses on individual youth football development. In order to improve player’s technical skills, we offer a program inspired by the Dutch Football Style. Our training sessions have often elements of the Coerver Method and our philosophy is inspired by Johan Cruyff’s game vision.
The Coerver Method
The dutch football player/coach Wiel Coerver developed this method in the 70’s.
Coerver analysed various videotapes of famous football players and formulated a new concept in football, teaching football skills in a comprehensive academic away.
This method helps players to progress in a structured manner. Training sessions focuses on ball mastery basics, passing, receiving, 1v1, speed, etc.
The Coerver method concentrates on individual development both alone and in small groups.
The Cruyff Football Philosophy
The Dutchman Johan Cruyff reinvented modern football, as a player and later as a coach. He implemented the “Total Football” tactical theory: attacking football, position change and compact football. The players in this system must be able to play in different positions and therefore they need to have high technical ability.
He coached Barcelona in the late 1980’s and early 1990′, Cruyff’s legacy can still be seen in Barcelona’s system and Guardiola’s style of play.
